Tide Buss in Norway orders 10 new fully electric citybuses

AI Summary

Tide Buss, one of Norway’s largest people transport operators, has signed an order for the delivery of 10, GX 437 ELEC citybus models to operate in the city of Trondheim.

Trondheim is well-known for being a pioneering hub for sustainable transport with the largest group of electric buses in the country and the delivery of the new citybus marks a significant step forward in the development of clean and quiet transport for smart cities.

These 10 electric buses will run on Line 12: Dragvoll-Sentrum-St.Olavs/Oya and will be entirely emission free.

The order from Tide Buss is for ten fully-electric articulated GX 437 buses developed by Heuliez Bus which are lightweight 18 metre vehicles which are made of 100% stainless steel. The buses come equipped with Lithium Titanate Oxide batteries and a powerful 160/200KW electric motor and energy is stored within the vehicle to allow longer daily mileage without restrictions.

The buses receive a fast charge of a few minutes using a top-down pantograph.

Furthermore, the buses also allow over 130 people on board in a single journey (in adherence to European regulations) and are quipped with air conditioning and a double heating system.

According to the tender, the electric buses will be delivered in the second quarter of 2019.
