IT-Trans 2016: IVU focuses on digitalisation and virtualisation

AI Summary

NEW SOLUTIONS FOR PASSENGER INFORMATION, DRIVER COMMUNICATION AND HOSTING

IVU Traffic Technologies AG is all set to showcase its digitalisation and virtualisation expertise at IT-Trans 2016. At stand G4 in hall 1, the Berlin-based IT specialist will be presenting new solutions for improved efficiency and service in the fields of passenger information, driver communication and hosting. The well-known standard products IVU.suite and IVU.rail will also be on show. Visitors to IT-Trans can try out the systems for themselves and receive in-depth advice. The trade fair for public transport is being held in Karlsruhe from 1 to 3 March 2016.

Passenger information – app with travel support
The new version of IVU.realtime.app makes the system a full digital travel companion. As soon as the user chooses a connection, the app informs them promptly if they need to get off or change during their journey. It automatically adapts navigation to the actual transport situation. If it detects that there is disruption or that a connection cannot be made as planned, it issues a visual and acoustic warning and suggests an alternative route on request. IVU.realtime.app serves as a basis for the smartphone apps of transport companies and can be customised.

Driver communication – digital briefcase
IVU will also be unveiling its new IVU.pad. This app turns the tablet into a full digital briefcase: It displays up-to-date, personalised messages about forthcoming journeys and vehicles and contains intuitive checklists, important documents and training-course details, including training materials. Employees can use the app to enter working hours on the move, submit holiday requests and view current messages from the dispatching unit. All communication is digital, which accelerates processes and ensures efficiency.

Hosting – software as a service
IVU.cloud allows transport companies to use most of the proven IVU solutions as software as a service. This relieves transport operators of complex technical operations management tasks and saves costs. At the same time, flexibility is enhanced: The system is scalable and easily adapted to increasing requirements. In terms of performance, availability and data security, the SaaS solution is completely on a par with the locally installed variants of IVU’s products.
