In the harbour city of Tauranga on New Zealand’s North Island, the rail connections between Baypark and Bayfair are currently being optimised.
The vibration protection solution from Getzner makes it possible for the new track at the foot of Mount Maunganui to pass close to a settlement, without reducing the quality of life and working conditions of the residents. Delkor Rail Pty Ltd, Getzner’s sales partner in New Zealand, was also on site to supervise the installation.
Excellent vibration isolation with minimal deflection
Getzner installed the proven under ballast mats over 400 metres of the 2.2 kilometre track as well as at three transition zones, thereby fulfilling all of the engineering consultant’s stipulations. Getzner’s solution stood out against competitor products due to its excellent vibration isolation values with optimal system deflection. That Getzner and Delkor Rail were able to deliver results for the necessary calculations quickly and flexibly was a deciding factor in winning the contract. Furthermore, Getzner offered technical support for the development and choice of the right product.
