Another step forward for e-freight

AI Summary

Air France-KLM-Martinair Cargo along with Rhenus and Cargonaut have digitised truck processing at the KLM Cargo area at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport.

Truck drivers arriving at the KLM Cargo area at Schiphol are now able to deliver air cargo directly to designated loading docks without stopping at the documentation desk.

The new eLink system allows drivers to scan their recognised road haulier card and, as long as the shipment is ready for carriage, secure and paperless, they can drive straight to the loading dock.

The project, which received European Union funding, is part of the airline’s wider push towards e-freight.

The airline said: “By switching to e-freight, the delivery process for shipment is arranged more efficiently and is less error-prone. It saves time and money, both for the customers and the airline.”
