FS Advisory launches a global transport consulting arm as part of the FS Italiane Group international expansion strategy. The London-based company will provide transportation and infrastructure advisory services to governments, institutional investors, operators, infrastructure developers and engineering firms working on complex mobility programmes worldwide.
The formation of FS Advisory reflects growing demand for integrated expertise in transport. Major mobility investments increasingly require coordinated insight across regulatory frameworks, infrastructure delivery and operations management. Rather than splitting these areas across separate advisers, FS Advisory aims to deliver unified guidance grounded in the operational experience of the FS Italiane Group.
The group manages around 17,000 kilometres of railway lines, more than 2,100 tunnels, 23,000 bridges and viaducts, 2,200 stations and 32,000 kilometres of roads. Through FS Advisory, that operational scale will inform consulting focused on digitalisation, sustainability and multimodal connectivity.
FS Advisory launches a global transport consulting arm with services spanning digital mobility platforms, ticketing systems, performance monitoring tools and full value-chain transport expertise. The firm will also offer Shadow and Interim Management support for governance transitions, nationalisation processes and operational restructuring.
Ernesto Sicilia, former CEO of Trenitalia UK, will lead the consultancy. He previously directed the FS Group rail operations in the United Kingdom for nearly a decade.
“Our international expansion is ambitious by choice. We are launching FS Advisory today because the next decade will be characterized by unprecedented investments in transport infrastructure globally, but for this capital to be successfully deployed, the right regulatory frameworks and operating models are needed,” said Stefano Antonio Donnarumma , CEO and General Manager of the FS Group. “FS Advisory represents the natural next step: to make this operational knowledge available to customers around the world who need partners who can face and solve these challenges on a large scale.”
The launch forms part of the international growth strategy presented in 2025 and complements expansion through FS International, which oversees transport operations in Spain, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Greece. FS Advisory will operate independently while retaining access to FS Group operational capabilities to support public policy reform and infrastructure investment worldwide.
