Dubai is known as a global hub of innovation, where the latest technological advancements are often centre stage. The entire city will be in the international spotlight in 2022 when those with an eye on the future participate in the World Expo Dubai.

For 182 days, from 1October 2021 to 31 March 2022, innovation will be buzzing through Dubai and the UAE region as a time to create, collaborate and innovate. Sustainability, mobility and opportunity will be the focus for building and shaping the future.

Sustainability. Mobility. Opportunity. Three words that are very familiar to UITP and our international events. At the same time as the creative minds are in town for the World Expo Dubai, UITP will be there with our members, partners and external stakeholders for the 2022 edition of the MENA Transport Congress and Exhibition (MTCE).

The 2022 gathering is being held from 6-8 February in Dubai under the theme “Building the Future of Mobility”. Jointly hosted by UITP and Roads and Transport Authority (RTA Dubai), it is an important event in the world of urban mobility.

The next edition will be even more special, as the 2022 MTCE will be held in Dubai during the World Expo. The UAE is a high-profile area for development and the MENA region is currently experiencing an inspiring shift in the field of public transport.

With significant investments in new projects, the region is working towards increasing public transport use, and to cleaner, and more sustainable mobility services.

The 2022 edition of the MENA Transport Congress and Exhibition will bring together sector leaders working on the latest regional developments to best showcase what the future will hold.

As populations grow, and with that diversifying needs, the latest public transport ventures are focused on green mobility while enhancing the quality of life for the MENA region’s residents.

Dubai is looking at how to build a better world by shaping the future. ‘Connecting Minds and Creating the Future’ is the focus of the World Expo, and as UITP events encourage debate and discussion, our audience will be there at the right time.

Dubai, the UAE’s most populous city, is one area where public transport and its use is experiencing increased demand. The urban mobility landscape is undergoing fundamental transformations with the emergence of Mobility 4.0, driven by four distinct game-changers: autonomous, connected, shared and electric mobility.

By embracing digitalisation, innovative and sustainable solutions towards mobility challenges, the public transport sector is at the core of the global transition towards a “new normal”, while ensuring the contribution to a cleaner and safer post-pandemic world.

The region is leading the way in innovation on many public transport fronts.

With “Building the Future of Mobility” in mind, the MENA Transport Congress and Exhibition will find a bright spot to shine as Dubai takes centre stage throughout 2022.
