Bombardier and Duisburger Verkehrsgesellschaft AG have presented the first new pre-series FLEXITY low-floor tram to the public.
The tram is equipped with an image-based driver assistance system (ODAS) to help prevent collisions. Full testing and approval runs on Duisburg’s tram network will begin shortly.
The design of the tram is such that it is brighter and more spacious than its predecessor with a capacity of up to 200. Both end cars have two doors, while the middle car has one. The tram also has air-conditioning and a modern passenger information system that presents upcoming stops and onward connections.
