French Firms Show Interest in Supporting Modernization Initiatives
The discussions took place as Uzbekistan continues working to strengthen domestic and cross-border connectivity while expanding its position within international freight routes linking Central Asia with major global markets. The country views modern logistics infrastructure and more efficient transport corridors as central elements of its broader economic and trade development strategy.
During the meeting, the French delegation expressed interest in participating in future infrastructure initiatives across Uzbekistan and indicated its willingness to contribute technological and engineering expertise to upcoming projects.
The ministry stated, “The French side expressed interest in participating in promising infrastructure projects and confirmed its readiness to share advanced technologies, engineering solutions and international experience.”
The participating French companies bring experience in rail transport, engineering, infrastructure construction and industrial technology, creating opportunities for cooperation across multiple phases of Uzbekistan’s transport infrastructure modernization program. The discussions also emphasized the potential application of digital technologies to improve transport management and logistics efficiency, while environmentally friendly transport solutions were identified as another promising area for collaboration.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in further developing cooperation and agreed to continue practical engagement to conduct a detailed assessment of prospective projects. Consultations are expected to continue as the parties identify specific initiatives and determine how French companies can contribute to the continued development of transport infrastructure in Uzbekistan.
