The Hamburg logistics company HOYER regularly publishes key figures about the sustainability of its corporate operations. The fourth Sustainability Report has now been presented, and again testifies to a positive development in 2015.

Thus around 95 per cent of HOYER’s trucks are now on the road with low-emission engines in the Euro V and Euro VI types. The proportion of trucks with the least polluting Euro VI engine tripled to 36 per cent in 2015 compared to the previous year, and an initial LNG truck is currently in the test phase. It was possible to reduce CO2 emissions by more than 55,000 tons compared to the previous year, despite a rise in road transport movements.

In the incidents avoidance area, it has moved a big step closer to its self-imposed target of reducing serious incidents in particular by half within the period from 2009 to 2020. Although the absolute number of incidents rose slightly, the key figure for particularly serious incidents was clearly, i.e. 6.5 per cent, below the threshold value of 76 set for 2015. A reduction in personal injuries was also recorded in the non-transport area.

HOYER again invested heavily in further training for its own employees in 2015. An industrial employee received on average nearly 13 hours of training in 2015, three times the figure for 2014. The number of audits in the company rose to a total of 47. HOYER is also an attractive employer for career beginners: in 2015 the family business employed more staff aged 30 or under than ever before (13 per cent). The logistics specialist also plans to align itself consistently to sustainability criteria in the future, thus meeting its special responsibility to employees and the environment.

About the HOYER Group:

HOYER, a traditional independent family business, has been one of the world’s leading bulk logistics providers since 1946.
