Karsan increases the electric fleet in Italy to Electrify Campania’s Public Transportation by Year-End.

Karsan began 2025 by winning a fresh tender on route to establish a worldwide brand in public transport. Recently delivering its 250th electric vehicle to Italy, Karsan secured a contract and won a new tender in the Campania region. Under the terms of the contract Karsan Europe signed with the Campania Regional Administration Regione Campania and the public transport agency ACAMIR, Karsan intends to deliver 42 units of 100% electric e-ATAK by year end.

Declaring that they win another tender in Italy, Karsan CEO Okan Baş remarked, “With this delivery, our electric vehicle park in Italy will reach 300 units. We have already supplied 8 units of e-ATAK in this area, which comprises of a large metropolis like Naples. Our vehicle park in the Campania Region will reach fifty with the fresh deliveries. Public transport in the Campania region is just starting to feature electric vehicles. We especially take great pride in their choice of Karsan e-ATAK vehicles for this process. With our Karsan e-JEST, e-ATAK, and e-ATA models, we are delighted to change public transit in 23 cities in 11 regions of Italy.

Leading the way in the change of the global transport scene, particularly in Europe with its electric and driverless cars, Karsan started the new year fast. Closing the last four years consecutively as the sales leader in Europe, the company’s model e-ATAK keeps fast expanding its international usage area and vehicle park. In this regard, Karsan stood out in a fresh tender for Italy, one of its primary target countries. Delivering its 250th electric vehicle in Italy on January 8, marking another significant milestone, Karsan signed the pertinent agreement and won a new tender in the Campania region of the nation including Naples.

In Italy, the Karsan car park will house three hundred vehicles!

Under the terms of the contract Karsan Europe signed with the Campania Regional authority Regione Campania and the public transport authority ACAMIR, 42 units of 100% electric Karsan e-ATAK buses will be delivered in two sections. Declaring that Italy is a market they value highly. “We are happy to win another tender as a 100% Turkish brand. With the delivery we plan to complete by the end of 2025, Karsan’s electric vehicle park in Italy will reach 300 units. With the deliveries we will make in two batches, we will significantly increase our influence in the Campania region. In this region, which includes a big city like Naples, we have previously delivered 8 units of e-ATAK. With the new deliveries, our vehicle park in the Campania Region will reach 50 vehicles.” Stating that the region has recently transitioned to electric vehicles in public transportation, Okan Baş said, “We are very proud that they prefer Karsan e-ATAK vehicles in this process. Our vehicles, which will provide great convenience in public transportation in the region, stand out with their environmentally friendly structure as well as their high-level travel comfort. A short time ago, we delivered 12 units of e-JEST to Florence Municipality and increased our electric vehicle park in the country to 250 units. We are happy to transform public transportation in 23 cities in 11 regions of Italy with our Karsan e-JEST, e-ATAK and e-ATA models.”

With its low floor, which makes it simpler for the elderly and families with children to get on and off the vehicle, Karsan e-ATAK offers a great degree of comfort to its passengers with its comfy seats and wide seat spacing. Passenger comfort is therefore always first. With its 8 meters in length and passenger capacity of 52 persons, Karsan e-ATAK stands out as offering an advantage in urban usage. With a range of up to 300 kilometres and maximum torque of 2500 nm, its 230 kW electric motor lets the car proceed without trouble even on steep hills under full load. Furthermore increasing the vehicle’s daily journey count is the battery’s capacity to be charged in three to ten hours.
