Deadline approaching for free registration to rail industry’s leading showcase

The UK’s premier exhibition of railway equipment, systems and services Railtex 2019 takes place at the NEC in Birmingham from the 14th to 16thof May.

The 14th International Exhibition of Railway Equipment, Systems and Services is on track to be one of the biggest events of the 2019 rail calendar, with over 420 exhibitors from 22 countries. Railtex this year will have a strong international presence from international companies, with almost quarter of exhibitors coming from outside the UK.

It will also be showcasing the best of the UK projects and innovation and technology with big name speakers in rail, high speed, digital technology and recruitment showcase.

Railtex 2019 will formally open on Tuesday 14thMay at 10.30am. The ceremony will take place in the Seminar Theatre in the main exhibition hall. Darren Caplan, Chief Executive of the Railway Industry Association, Anna DelVecchio, Commercial Account Director of Amey and the Minister of State for Trade and Export Promotion will be taking part in the ceremony.

Among the keynote speakers will be the Rail Minister MP Andrew Jones, who is speaking at the event’s Future Focus Conference, a new feature to the exhibition which will cover key challenges and opportunities UK rail will face in the coming years. The Rail Minister’s keynote speech will take place on Wednesday, May 15th.

Thursday 16th May will see Network Rail’s Managing Director, Group Digital Railway, Stuart Calvert deliver a keynote focusing on Devolution and the Digital Railway.

Also on Thursday 16th May, the Shadow Secretary of State for Transport MP Andy McDonald will close the three-day seminar programme speaking on the Labour Party’s plans for rail.

Natalia Charman, exhibition manager for Railtex, said: “Railtex is the industry’s leading event as it creates maximum engagement for visitors by placing thousands of industry professionals together in one place at one time, featuring companies serving all aspects of rail and associated sectors.

“Whatever your tie to the industry, there is something for everyone and the NEC Birmingham is the place to be for anyone looking to make valuable connections or discover the latest opportunities available within the industry.

This year’s event will showcase the very best in railway manufacturing, engineering and technology, with key sectors including rolling stock, railway interiors, infrastructure and digital technology.

Entry to Railtex 2019 remains free of charge if you pre-register online ahead of your visit. This is up to 13th May, the day before Railtex opens. To do so go to www.railtex.co.uk and click on the ‘Register Now for Free’ button. For non-registered visitors there will be a £20 entry charge payable on arrival at the NEC.
