Priority Pass announces 15% growth in its lounge network

Growth in Asia and South America are key drivers

Priority Pass continues to have the largest lounge portfolio of any independent provider
Priority Pass today announces that its network of partner-operated lounges now totals over 700- reinforcing itself as the leading independent airport VIP lounge access provider with the highest number of lounges.

This follows a sustained period of growth – which has seen Priority Pass achieve an uplift of some 15% in its lounge numbers worldwide by acquiring new partners in key regions.

A major contributor to this growth has been through its increasing success in Asia – where its network in the region has expanded by some 22% overall – with 30% growth in China alone; including its first lounges at airports in Changchun, Chongqing, Baotou, Jinan & Yichang. As well as these important domestic Chinese locations, additional lounges have also been secured in the growing economic hubs of India and Indonesia.

In South America the program has seen an increase in lounges of 29% with further growth anticipated this year. Brazil is a key focus for delivering new lounge partners with 5 lounges just added; a demonstration of the 2014 growth trend ensuring that Priority Pass delivers the greatest portfolio for South American travelers.

There have also been notable increases in Africa and Middle East – other key growth markets – where Priority Pass now provides its members with access to over 85 lounges, more than any other independent program, with Nigeria and Morocco some of its recent additions.

Its already strong European footprint has expanded further, with lounges added across 13 countries including Greece, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Croatia, Moldova, United Kingdom, Denmark, Ukraine & Gibraltar.

Steve Pinches, Managing Director of Priority Pass said: “This major and unique milestone has been achieved by a focus on delivering lounges in destinations that our members are travelling to most- irrespective of airline or class of travel flown. This has been particularly important in the rapidly growing travel regions of China and Brazil, where we are pleased to report the biggest uplifts – but also in Russia and Africa.

“Over the last two years Priority Pass had added lounge partners in 86 cities across 42 countries. Not only do we continue to have more lounges than any other independent provider globally – we also have the most coverage across each region to provide true global spread.”

Priority Pass (http://www.prioritypass.com) provides frequent travelers with airport lounge access, irrespective of their class of travel, airline flown or existing membership in an airline loyalty program. Launched in 1992, Priority Pass now offers more than 700 airport lounges worldwide in 400 cities in over 120 countries.

Priority Pass is part of the Collinson Group, a global leader in shaping and influencing customer behaviour to drive revenue and value for its clients. It offers a unique blend of industry and sector specialists who together provide market-leading experience in delivering products and services across four core capabilities: Loyalty, Lifestyle Benefits, Insurance, and Assistance. The Collinson Group has in excess of 25 years’ experience, with 28 global locations, servicing over 800 clients in 150 countries, employing over 1,400 staff, managing over 20 million end customers.
