HAECO, which happens to be a leading provider of aircraft engineering as well as maintenance solutions, has announced the commencement of maintenance support for the Airbus A321neo fleet of Cathay Pacific at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), thereby expanding its maintenance services to the narrow-body fleet of the airline.

Effective July 2025, this collaboration goes on to mark a new chapter in the partnership between HAECO and Cathay Pacific, which happens to cover a wide range of maintenance, overhaul, and repair services to the entire fleet of Cathay Pacific narrowbody as well as widebody aircraft, which includes the likes of Boeing 747–8F, 747–400F, 777–300, 777–300ER, Airbus A350–900, A350–1000, and A330–300 models along with the newly included A321neo fleet.

As per this new agreement, HAECO is going to deliver a comprehensive suite of line maintenance of Cathay Pacific, which includes transit checks with certificate of release to service, line maintenance planning, cabin cleaning, overnight maintenance up to A-checks, cabin maintenance, engine on-wing maintenance, ground equipment support, aircraft exterior washing, and also aircraft-on-ground (AOG) recovery.

According to the chief commercial officer at HAECO, Gerald Steinhoff, HAECO has enjoyed a close collaboration with Cathay Pacific ever since their inception 75 years ago. Because of this new contract, Cathay Pacific goes on to become the largest narrow-body customer of HAECO in terms of flight volume and they are indeed proud to deepen their relationship with the flagship carrier of Hong Kong.

Peter Murton, the chief executive officer of HAECO Hong Kong, said that they are very excited to expand their services to Cathay Pacific, thereby supporting their journey so as to become the leading service brand in the world with a commitment when it comes to safety as well as excellence in operations.

HAECO due to being a customer-centric MRO solution provider, goes on to leverage its expertise at the center of excellence—CoE, which happens to be a joint department established in partnership with Cathay Pacific in 2020 to go ahead and offer streamlined maintenance planning services with elevated digitalization. Due to real-time dashboards, both HAECO and Cathay Pacific teams can plan and prepare effectively and in advance for the maintenance tasks and AOG situations by benefiting from the instant visibility on manpower, tooling, spare parts, and equipment readiness of the CoE.

Because of the fully operational third runway system as well as the upcoming opening of terminal 2 at the HKIA, HAECO is very well positioned in order to support its international customers when it comes to leveraging the opportunities that are presented by the new infrastructure while at the same time maintaining the highest safety benchmark.

Apart from Hong Kong, HAECO also offers line maintenance services across 19 stations in 17 cities throughout the Chinese mainland. At present HAECO offers first line maintenance of Cathay Pacific in Nanjing, Chongqing, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, and Xiamen.
