The European Transport Conference (ETC) is the annual conference of the Association for European Transport, attracting transport policy makers, practitioners and researchers from all over Europe and beyond. ETC offers in-depth presentations on policy issues, best practice and research findings across the broad spectrum of transport. ETC also provides an opportunity where delegates can enjoy networking opportunities, participate in technical visits, and explore the exhibition.
The European Transport Conference returns once again to a full three-day conference at the Bovisa Campus of Politecnico di Milano. This follows the 2022 conference that celebrated our 50th anniversary. AET was delighted that the 2022 conference was so successful, with excellent attendance, thought-provoking plenaries, and topical sessions.
AET has the ambition to make the 2023 conference as, if not more, successful than last year’s conference, the “call for papers is now open”

We now invite Abstract Submissions for the 2023 European Transport Conference. The major theme of the conference will be:
Human Wellbeing & Inclusivity in Transport – in relation to global crises and climate change
The seminars of each Programme Committee will reference the theme. Emphasis will also be placed on:
Human wellbeing – delivering transport schemes for the health of future generations
Transport equity – enabling inclusiveness in travel in diverse societies
Sustainable travel – shaping tourism and daily travel in the face of climate change and energy transition
Supply chain challenges – impacts of labour and resource constraints in freight and passenger transport
Regulatory issues – impacts of national and international legislation on infrastructure and services
Funding and financial sustainability – challenges from Covid recovery and energy prices
Cities and transport – integrated planning, liveable cities, active transport
